620 Years of “Brauereigasthof” Aying

1385    This Ayinger inn is referred to in official documentation as a “tavern and place of jurisdiction”
1459    Sale to the Augustinian monastery, Bernried; remains in ownership of the monastery until 1803.
1820    Purchased by the great, great, great grandparents of the current brewer, Franz Liebhard and his wife Katharina.
1821    The general agriculture-use building, the “Jacklhaus”, is destroyed by fire and re-built.
1878    Foundation of the Ayinger Brewery by Johann Liebhard, the actual “Brauereigasthof” consequently comes into being.
1963    Renovation by the grandparents of the Inselkammers. Under the management of Maria Inselkammer the inn becomes one of the best restaurants in Germany.
2001    Modernization while maintaining the typical Bavarian “flair”; today managed by Angela Inselkammer.
